# Setup

In order to enable Artemis you need to make sure with your customer representative that your current ngSurvey license covers the Artemis AI agent add-on.

1. Configure the Artemis endpoint using following environment variable with the current host used to host ngSurvey along with the Artemis suffix.\
 **NGSurvey:ArtemisUrl** [https://yourngsurveyhost/artemis](http://localhost:5000/artemis)
2. Go to the configuration system settings and configure your favorite [AI provider](/installation-setup/system-settings/ai-suite-provider.md) that will be used by Artemis as its AI backbone.

\
After setting up your AI provider, reload your admin page. Check the bottom left of your menu for the Artemis button to begin using Artemis.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Before setting up Artemis make sure that your company policies allow you to use an external AI provider as ngSurvey may send survey or related survey or respondent data to the AI provider endpoint.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.ngsurvey.com/ai-suite/artemis-ai-agent/setup.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
